Hear ye, hear ye!
Squires and ladies lend me your ears! Does thou like to construct homesteads for the little winged sprites flitting about the garden? Or maybe one would like to glean inspiration from other folk who share your interest in building abodes for those flitting fairies.
Then a quest awaits you!
Build a magnificent fairy house and enter it in the Fairy House Competition at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. You will be rewarded famously for providing a homeless fairy with a place to hang their wings at the end of the day.
What’s the prize you ask? A Linder’s gift card worth $250!
Should you decide to take up this noble quest, registration will be due by August 15th.
How does one go about creating a home for fairies? Well, a fairy home should be fairly durable to weather elements. These houses will be displayed in the Special Events Fields so fairies can find them with ease no doubt.
Express your creativity with the use of materials. Feel free to use dry grass, leaves, sticks, bark, pebbles, pine cones, stones, acorns, feathers, seaweed, nuts, shells and much more! And feel free to decorate their new home inside and out! This can include a landscape or any indoor furnishings (their wings get tired when they haul furniture back forth so it might be nice to throw a chair in there). Should you find yourself needing supplies, Linder’s has a great selection of plants and fairy furniture to make them feel right at home.
Maybe if your lucky you can even draw the attention of Twig the Fairy!
Space in this fine contest is limited so remember to register early! Click here for more information and a registration form.
Will you take up this noble quest? Yay or nay?
